11 September 1999 During the Near East Asteroid Survey, Lincoln Near-Earth Asteroid Research discovered an asteroid. And on September 23, 1999, radar images from Deep Space Network were photographed from this asteroid which had gone through a lot of earth. The asteroid was going to tell about our existence later and named it Bennu. 101955 Bennu was named after the bird of Egypt.
But what is this Bennu Asteroid special for us? Is it going to hit the earth? So let's know it.

Our galaxy is home to billion stars and our solar system is also home to them. Where the blue planet dwells on our life since ancient times, this question is in our mind, how did this earth, sun, the moon become? Over the past few decades, our understanding of the solar system has evolved considerably. We have speculated through several theories about how our solar system would have been born? But we can prove these principles sometimes.

This is how Bennu is an ancient carbonaceous asteroid that was once part of the earth. Bennu orbits the earth from the close orbit of the sun and sometimes it comes very come to the earth. Where we can easily study it. With this aim, on 18 September 2016, we launched Osiris-Rex Spacecraft. Its mission is to land on Bennu and collect his sample and come back to Earth. It is not that easy.

This mission will take seven years to complete and on September 24, 2023, Osiris -Rex will return to Earth, but if everything goes according to the mission. The cost of this mission is 800 million dollars. But what is the benefit of us doing this mission? Is it necessary to study Asteroids? 3 Asteroid missions have been carried out before Osiris Rex. NASA's  Near Sheo maker.

Maker and Jaxa's Hayabusa 1 and Hayabusa 2. Hayabusa 1 stayed on Itikawa Asteroids for half an hour and collected a small amount of sample dust and came back to Earth.

But in the Osiris-Rex mission on Bennu Asteroid, we will first successfully land on the Asteroid and collect a large amount of sample and try to bring it back to Earth on December 3, 2018, after a long journey of almost two years, Osiris Rex is close We have reached close to Bennu and he sent us these pictures of Bennu, from this pictures we are able to see an asteroid so closely. But this question will come in your mind, why is it important to study this asteroid.

We humans have been looking for this since ancient times. After all, how was our solar system born? And Bennu can help us with this. From the chemical nature of Bennu, we can know how our solar system was composed. Bennu is quite special compared to other asteroids. Its shape is like wandering around. Which completes 1 round on its axis in about 4.3 hours. But Bennu, this speed is increasing with time also due to the euro effect which is due to sun thermal photon. Bennu's speed is increasing because of his shape.

Due to which it can be a threat to the earth. By calculation, scientists say that in September 2060, Bennu will pass through 7 lakh 350 kilometers and in September 2135, about 3 lakh kilometers will travel out of the moon almost in such a distance, then in 2175 it will again come closer to the earth, then there will be a probability from 24000 to the earth. The colliding Bennu is about 265 meters wide. This type of asteroid can destroy a city. If Bennu accidentally hits the earth, then heavy damage can be done. But it takes a lot of time. We are currently studying for Bennu. Which will give us the answer to our questions?

All we have to do is wait for the year 2023 which Osiris Rex will return to Earth.

Thank You.
