The truth of the Dark Side of the Moon

The truth of the Dark Side of the Moon

Update- 10 April 2020

The moon is a permanent satellite of the earth. But to this day, we are seeing only the front side of the moon, which we call the Near Side of the Moon. The backside of the moon, which is always in the dark, which we call the dark side of the moon, so today we know a little about it.

The truth of the Dark Side of the Moon

The moon is our nearest earth satellite, which constantly revolves around the earth. Because of this, the earth is stable in its orbit. The moon is the fifth-largest natural satellite in our solar system. Due to this, the day of the earth is 24 hours and our weather is stable.
Apart from the moon, many small bodies revolve around the earth, which we call NEO's (near-earth object).

The truth of the Dark Side of the Moon

The moon completes a rotation of the Earth in 29 days 12 hours 43 minutes. This orbital time of the moon in about a month is called Lunar Month.
We know the moon does not have its own light but its surface is very reflective which we see at night. When it revolves around the earth. The angle between it and the sun changes with time, due to this change, we are able to see phases of the moon.

Full Moon- In the full moon, sunlight falls on the near side of the moon.
New Moon- In the new moon, the rays of the sun fall on the part of the moon that we cannot see from the earth, which we call the Dark Side of the Moon.

What is the dark side of the moon?

The moon rotates our earth in a special way which we can call tidal locking. The moon takes 27 days 7 hours to complete a rotation on its axis. The moon revolves around its axis at the same speed as an orbit across the earth. This is why we always see only a part of the moon
and the back of the moon is always covered with what we call the Dark Side of the Moon.

What is lunar maria?

This name was named ancient astronomy scientists, he believed that it is the actual sea built on the moon. But today we know that it is not a sea but flat land. These were built due to late heavy bombarding.

How many space missions were done on the moon?

The truth of the Dark Side of the Moon

For us to see the dark side of the moon, we had to go to the backside of it.

12 September 1959- Soviet Union performs first moon mission of Luna 2 Spaceprobe

16 July 1969-NASA Launches Apollo Mission In this mission, man first stepped on the moon

4 October 1959- was the first time the Soviet Union took the first picture of the dark side of the moon with the help of the Luna 3 space probe. But she very blurred.

22 October 2008- ISRO launched Chandrayaan 1 was India's first moon mission. Who discovered ice water in moon poles

18 June 2009- NASA launched LRO which detailed the near side of the moon and the dark side of the moon.

From this, it is very strange to see the dark side of the moon. That part of it is made of big pits.

Why is the dark side of the moon so bizarre?

The truth of the Dark Side of the Moon

Scientists believe that the first earth was two moons and merged with each other over time. This made the back of the moon thicker where the second moon was merged. Later due to late heavy bombarding, the lava inside the moon in the front part came to the surface and cooled to become a plane surface.

But due to the dark side of the moon being thick, the surface did not result in an asteroid and became a creator.
